With Drops Air you get 150m for 50g whereas with a typical aran/worsted merino you’d only get 80-90m for every 50g. In general when looking for a substitute for this yarn try to find a ‘blown’ yarn or one that is very light for the amount of yardage you get. Regarding substitutes, I’d recommend Wool and the Gang’s Feeling Good Yarn which is a ‘blown’ yarn with a similar alpaca blend. I get Drops Air online from Wool Warehouse a UK based company but they ship internationally (and for very reasonable prices too)! I live in New Zealand I’ve always received my packages on time and undamaged.
